Eind maart was er al het nieuws, dat Elvis Costello op 13 oktober zijn memoires zal publiceren.
Nu heeft de weerbarstige zanger/gitarist bovendien bekendgemaakt, at Unfaithful music & disappearing ink zal worden vergezeld door een dubbel-cd: Unfaithful music & soundtrack.
De 38 songs daarvan selecteerde hij zelf en volgens het persbericht zocht hij songs uit die emotioneel het beste passen bij de inhoud van zijn boek.
Uiteraard maken enkele niet eerder uitgebrachte songs deel uit van de selectie, al zijn dat er maar twee: het al twee jaar van zijn debuut opgenomen I can’t turn it off (onder de naam D.P. Costello) en April 5th, een duet met Rosanne Cash en Kris Kristofferson.
Ook maken drie ‘exclusieve audioschetsen’ deel uit van de dubbelaar, net als een slechts 28 pagina’s tellen boekje met de teksten en niet eerder gepubliceerde foto’s.
