Van Paul Simon’s destijds opzienbare album ‘Graceland’ komt op 1 juni een elektronische remix uit.
De klassieker uit 1986 was muzikaal een breuk met Simon’s eerdere, introspectief klinkende songs, maar was daarnaast eerst omstreden en daarna baanbrekend doordat hij de culturele boycot tegen het Zuid-Afrikaanse apartheidsregime had genegeerd.
Voor ‘Graceland – the remixes’ zullen alle elf tracks onherstelbaar worden verbeterd door een keur een hip volk, onder wie Photek, Richy Ahmed, Rich Pinder, Joris Voorn en Groove Armada.
Wij vragen ons af of Simon dit onzes inziens volkomen overbodige album niet had kunnen tegenhouden.
