Mavis Staples heeft een nieuw livealbum aangekondigd.
‘Live in London’ staat pas gepland voor 8 februari 2019, maar er is nu al een eerste video vrijgegeven van een van de optredens op 8 en 9 juli van dit jaar in de Londense Union Chapel.
Staples noemt die zaal ‘the best place in the world to sing’, maar dat zal de immer positieve frontvrouw van de gospel ook weleens over een andere zaal gezegd hebben.
Opvallend detail is, dat Staples dit album zelf produceerde en dat ze veel songs selecteerde die op haar recente album staan:
