Dolly Parton heeft een kinderboek geschreven met Kerstmis als onderwerp.
De tekst van haar eigen ‘Comin’ Home for Christmas’ was een inspiratiebron voor de tekst van ‘Billy the Kid Comes Home for Christmas’, terwijl MacKenzie Haley de illustraties maakte.
Parton lichtte haar motivatie voor het boek toe op Instagram: ‘I always love celebrating Christmas with my family and of course my god-dog @btkthefrenchie. Using my ‘Comin’ Home for Christmas’ lyrics, I wanted to tell a story about the importance of family and friends, especially during the holidays. I hope this is a book families will be excited to read every year for Christmas.’:
