Van Rockicoon Patti Smith verschijnt op 4 november ‘Bread of Angels’, het derde boek waarin ze haar leven op de loep neemt.
In het boek beschrijft ze haar tienerjaren, maar uiteraard ook het opnemen van albums als ‘Horses’, haar huwelijk met Fred ‘Sonic’ Smith en haar kinderen.
Naar verluidt heeft ze er tien jaar over gedaan om het boek te schrijven.
Eerder verschenen al ‘Just Kids’ (2010) waarin ze haar relatie met fotograaf Robert Mapplethorpe in de jaren zestig en zeventig beschreef, en ‘M Train’ (2015).
Het persbericht noemt haar nieuwe memoires uiteraard haar ‘intiemste’ memoires: ‘As Smith suffers profound losses, grief and gratitude are braided through years of caring for her children, rebuilding her life, and, finally, writing again — the one constant on a path driven by artistic freedom and the power of the imagination to transform the mundane into the beautiful, the commonplace into the magical, and pain into hope.’
